Is there really no subscription?

Do I need an account or the internet?
Neither. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into — Tadbooks runs entirely on your computer and works completely offline.
Where does my financial data live?
On your computer, and only there. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Backups are encrypted files you keep wherever you like.
How do updates work?
When a new version ships you'll get an email. Re-download from your order page, reinstall, done — your books stay where they were.
Can I keep books for multiple businesses?
Yes — create as many companies as you like and switch between them. Each keeps fully separate books.
